About The Position

Fitzgibbon Hospital is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to work in a rural healthcare practice. The successful candidate will have experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting, a compassionate and caring attitude, and the ability to work as a self-motivator. The position works a night shift from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., totaling 72 hours every two weeks.

Fitzgibbon Hospital is a 60-bed acute care facility with over 30 physicians, 90 RNs, and 60 LPNs. The hospital offers advances in medical technology and emphasizes personal attention in its care.

Requirements

• Experience working as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting.
• Compassionate and caring attitude.
• Proven ability to work as a self-motivator.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently manage emergency patient situations by following established protocols, remaining calm, informing appropriate personnel, and documenting events.
• Participate in staff development activities by sharing knowledge and using appropriate teaching and learning strategies to assist peers.
• Create therapy programs for patients based on physicians’ specific instructions.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluation, treatment, and control of deficiencies and abnormal functions in patients’ cardiopulmonary systems.
