About The Position
Performs routine respiratory care procedures independently in acute care, critical care, and outpatient environments. Performs respiratory care assessments and diagnostic testing procedures associated with respiratory care. The role includes initiating and maintaining mechanical ventilation and providing education to students in affiliated clinical training programs, patients, and families. Additional duties may be assigned. The position requires fundamental proficiency in ventilator management and respiratory therapeutic procedures, along with knowledge of departmental laboratory testing and the ability to interpret test results under general supervision. The therapist works with occasional guidance, analyzes moderately complex problems using technical experience and judgment, and provides informal guidance and support to team members.
Requirements
- Tennessee Registered Respiratory Therapist license (LIC-Registered Respiratory Therapist - Tennessee).
- One year of relevant work experience.
- Graduate of an approved discipline-specific program.
