About The Position

The Respiratory Therapist performs respiratory therapy duties in all patient care areas. The role requires proficiency in mechanical ventilation, NIPPV, patient assessment, tracheostomy care, high-flow oxygen therapy, airway stabilization and maintenance, patient education, ABG acquisition, and outpatient respiratory procedures. The therapist responds promptly to and communicates with nursing staff and providers about changes in patient condition, documents care accurately and on time, participates in patient treatment planning and multidisciplinary rounds, and supports a positive, approachable, patient-centered care environment. This is an onsite position at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, New York, with three 12-hour overnight shifts. Local travel of 0%–10% may be expected. Requirements

RRT education/credential.
Active New York Respiratory Therapist License.
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications.
Ability to stand for long periods.
Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination.
Ability to perform light lifting up to 40 pounds.
