Respiratory Therapist (Contract) - Charlotte, NC
About The Position
Crosswalk Health is hiring Respiratory Therapists (CRT or RRT) and Pulmonary Function Technologists (CPFT or RPFT) to perform simple pre- and post-albuterol spirometry testing at primary care clinics in the Charlotte area. This is a 1099 contractor role with a flexible weekday schedule of one to five days per week, daytime hours, and daily pay of $245–$300. The role offers clinical independence and support from a collaborative team. Crosswalk Health brings guideline-based spirometry directly to primary care clinics through a technology-enabled model intended to support earlier diagnoses and broaden access to specialty respiratory care, particularly in rural and underserved communities. The company reports a team of 60 respiratory therapists delivering care across 19 regions in nine states.
Requirements
- Current CRT, RRT, CPFT, or RPFT credential.
- Experience performing bedside spirometry or pulmonary function testing.
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy practices and safe albuterol administration.
- Ability to commute to clinics throughout a region.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities
- Visit local primary care clinics to perform pre- and post-bronchodilator spirometry testing.
- Educate and coach patients to support accurate, high-quality results.
- Safely administer albuterol when indicated and monitor patients throughout testing.
- Grade and upload completed testing for pulmonologist review.
- Maintain testing equipment and follow quality and safety standards.
- Build trusted relationships with patients and clinic teams while representing Crosswalk Health professionally and compassionately.
