About The Position

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a 205-bed hospital. This facility is a trauma center with a 20-bed ICU and a limited pediatric floor. The travel RT will provide services to Medical, Surgical, Rehab, Progressive Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and limited pediatrics. Typically, 4-6 RTs are on staff each shift. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Documentation is to be completed in Epic. This position accepts first-time travelers. The required scrub color is Olive Green.

Requirements

ACLS certification
BLS certification
NRP certification
Experience with Adult/Peds respiratory care
Proficiency in endotracheal tube/suctioning
Experience with extubation
Experience with intubation assistance
Experience with oral airway placement
Experience with oropharyngeal/suctioning
Experience with sputum specimen collection
Experience with tracheostomy/suctioning
Experience with aerosol setup mask, medihaler, metered dose inhaler, hand held and ultrasonic nebulizer
Experience with Bi-pap/CPAP management
Experience with weaning from mechanical vent
Experience with ABG interpretation
Experience with Basic EKG
Must live at least 50 miles from the facility (50-mile radius rule in effect).

Responsibilities

Service Medical, Surgical, Rehab, Progressive Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and Limited pediatrics.
Provide respiratory care during night shifts.
Perform documentation in Epic.
Manage Bi-pap/CPAP.
Assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation.
Perform endotracheal tube/suctioning.
Assist with extubation and intubation.
Perform oral airway placement, oropharyngeal/suctioning.
Collect sputum specimens.
Perform tracheostomy/suctioning.
Administer aerosol treatments via mask, medihaler, metered dose inhaler, and hand held and ultrasonic nebulizer.
Interpret ABGs.
Perform Basic EKGs.
