Respiratory Therapist - Full Time, Nights/Days

About The Position

Saybrook Landing, a skilled nursing facility, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care to residents. The role includes arterial blood gas analysis, heated high-flow therapy, tracheostomy procedures, invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation management, and ventilator weaning. The therapist will work with interdisciplinary teams, educate residents and families, and maintain compliant patient documentation.

Requirements

Bachelor's or associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
Valid Ohio licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
At least 1 year of clinical experience.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

NRP certification.
Clinical experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facilities.
Experience in ventilator management and weaning protocols.

Responsibilities

Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and accurately interpret results.
Administer heated high-flow therapy and oversee tracheostomy procedures, including removal and insertion.
Monitor and optimize settings for invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation systems.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans, including ventilator weaning protocols.
Educate and support residents and their families regarding respiratory care techniques and equipment use.
Maintain detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
