About The Position
Heartline Staffing is hiring multiple Registered Respiratory Therapists (RRTs) for night-shift work in a hospital cardiopulmonary department in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. This is an in-person role involving respiratory therapies, response to codes and emergency calls, and education for patients and families. The therapist will also contribute to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices. Shift length and rotation details will be shared during a recruiter conversation.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy.
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in North Carolina.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- PALS certification.
- NRP certification.
- Willingness to work night shift.
Responsibilities
- Measure lung capacity and analyze blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
- Perform EKGs and tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
- Deliver ordered respiratory therapies and monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and response to treatment.
- Respond to codes and emergency calls, assess patient condition, and provide appropriate interventions.
- Evaluate and contribute to respiratory care policies and procedures.
- Educate patients and families about illness, treatments, device use, and community resources.
- Monitor, receive, stock, and distribute respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders, and maintain equipment readiness.
- Disassemble, clean, sterilize, perform preventive maintenance on, and calibrate respiratory equipment.
- Participate in performance improvement and required education.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
