About The Position

This is a unique opportunity for a Respiratory Therapist who enjoys a clinic-based environment, consistent daytime hours, and a strong focus on Pulmonary Function Testing—while maintaining exposure to broader respiratory care as needed. Under the direction of a licensed physician, the Respiratory Therapist will primarily support outpatient Pulmonary Function Testing services, performing and ensuring high-quality diagnostic evaluations in a patient-focused environment. In addition, the therapist may perform select respiratory therapies and procedures across inpatient areas, supporting overall departmental operations as needed.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Applied Science (Respiratory Therapy).
Current New York State Respiratory Therapist License.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Pulmonary Function Testing or outpatient respiratory services.
1–2 years of hospital-based or ambulatory care experience.
Pediatric experience a plus.
RRT and/or CRT certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care.

Responsibilities

Perform Pulmonary Function Testing (PFTs) such as spirometry, lung volumes, and diffusion capacity testing with accuracy and attention to quality standards
Educate patients on testing procedures and ensure a comfortable outpatient experience
Collaborate with pulmonologists and care teams to support diagnostic interpretation and care planning
Maintain equipment calibration, quality control, and adherence to regulatory standards
Document and communicate results clearly and effectively
Perform select respiratory therapies and procedures across inpatient areas, supporting overall departmental operations as needed.
