About The Position

This is a full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist position working third shift, with 12-hour shifts and 36 hours per week. Holiday and weekend rotation is required. The therapist provides routine and emergency respiratory therapy services to patients ranging from neonates to geriatrics, responds to cardiac and respiratory arrests and disasters, and participates in C-section deliveries and newborn care. The role also involves completing assigned EKGs, maintaining and testing equipment, documenting and charging for patient care, assisting with in-service training, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• PALS certification required within six months.
• Ability to remain calm and function appropriately in emergency situations.
• Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks.
• Effective communication with team members, patients, and staff.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Physically able to perform the functions of the position.
• Maintain all required qualifications for the position.

Nice To Haves

• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• NRP certification preferred; required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency respiratory therapy procedures, including patient treatments and rounds, starting new treatments, and setting up equipment ordered during the shift.
• Perform arterial blood gas studies, maintain ventilator protocol, and maintain proficiency in oximeter use.
• Provide care appropriate to the populations served, from neonates to geriatric patients.
• Respond to cardiac and respiratory arrests and disaster situations.
• Participate in C-section deliveries and newborn care.
• Complete EKGs as assigned.
• Complete necessary patient charge and charting information while maintaining confidentiality.
• Clean and test equipment.
• Assist with in-service training.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
