About The Position

This position involves performing respiratory patient assessments, making recommendations, and initiating therapy as per physician orders. The role requires familiarity with ventilator equipment, respiratory medication delivery devices, and performing chest physical therapy. Responsibilities include drawing and analyzing arterial blood specimens, assisting with ABG interpretation, responding to cardiopulmonary emergencies, performing EKGs and other diagnostic tests, and collaborating with the healthcare team on interventions, discharge needs, and patient education. Other assigned duties will also be part of the role.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program.
• NBRC Registry.
• ASBRT License.
• BLS required.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS preferred.
• 1-2 years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory patient assessments, makes appropriate recommendations and initiates recommended mode of therapy per physician orders.
• Familiar with ventilator equipment, respiratory medication delivery devices as well as be knowledgeable on performing chest physical therapy.
• Draws and analyzes arterial blood specimens.
• Assist in the interpretation of ABG's as needed.
• Responds to cardiopulmonary emergencies and assist with intervention as appropriate and within scope of practice.
• Performs EKG's and other diagnostic or therapeutic tests as assigned.
• Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team concerning interventions, discharge needs and patient education.
• Completes other duties or task as assigned.
