About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy Float Team. This role provides diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician, following department policies and treatment protocols. The therapist will collect, assess, interpret, and intervene in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, ensuring patient welfare and safety during treatments. This position is a minimum of casual status, with assignments potentially up to 36 hours per week. Shift differentials are provided: $4/hr for nights and $2/hr for weekends. Requirements

Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Exceptions include: New Graduates must complete their RRT within 6 months of hire. Those with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) must have 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in a clinical setting.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in a clinical setting
3 years of NICU and/or PICU experience in a clinical setting

Responsibilities

Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment
