About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to join our Respiratory Therapy Float Team. This role provides diagnostic and therapeutic services as prescribed by a physician, following defined treatment protocols. The therapist will collect, assess, interpret, and intervene as appropriate in the care of neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, ensuring patient welfare and safety standards during treatments. The schedule involves up to 36 hours per week with 8-12 hour shifts. Shift differentials are provided: $4/hr for nights and $2/hr for weekends. Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
  • Respiratory Therapist License issued by the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • New Graduates must complete their Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 6 months of hire.
  • Those with Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) must have 3 or more years of respiratory therapist experience in a clinical setting.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 6 months of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care/Therapy or related field
  • 3 years of Respiratory Therapy experience in a clinical setting
  • 3 years of NICU and/or PICU experience in a clinical setting

Responsibilities

  • Assessing patient needs and identifies expected outcomes.
  • Implementing Respiratory interventions based on plan of care.
  • Evaluating care and the patient’s response to interventions and expected outcomes.
  • Delivering care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patient population, or individual patient.
  • Operating and maintaining all Respiratory Care equipment
