About The Position

This role is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist Float at Ascension Saint Thomas in Nashville, TN. The department is Respiratory Float and the schedule is PRN with a Night Shift. The therapist will assess patient needs to develop and implement precise respiratory care plans based on specific diagnoses. They will expertly manage and monitor high-level respiratory equipment and treatments, adjusting protocols based on patient outcomes. The role involves acting as a core member of the emergency resuscitation team, providing life-saving intervention during critical codes. The therapist will vigilantly monitor and document patient conditions, ensuring the medical team is informed of real-time changes. Additionally, they will empower families with the knowledge to manage health conditions and connect them with vital community support resources.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Respiratory Care obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted preferred.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
