The role of the respiratory therapist in the Ambulatory Care PSU involves responsibilities for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating patient care for patients who are technology-dependent and/or have sleep-disorder breathing, and conducting pulmonary function testing. The respiratory therapist is a member of the multidisciplinary team and will enhance the role of Case Management with the complex respiratory patient population, as well as perform diagnostic evaluations in the pulmonary function laboratory.
