About The Position

The Respiratory Equipment Technician provides in an expedient manner, properly functioning respiratory care equipment by disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, performing preventive maintenance on select equipment and verifying operational readiness. The Respiratory Equipment Technician organizes, monitors and maintains appropriate consumable and capital inventory levels. This position documents charges in the computer for respiratory care modalities rendered on the previous day.

Requirements

• High school graduate (or GED).

• Previous work experience with respiratory care equipment.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, reassemble respiratory care equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on select equipment.
• Verify operational readiness of respiratory care equipment.
• Organize, monitor, and maintain appropriate consumable and capital inventory levels.
• Document charges in the computer for respiratory care modalities rendered.
• Identify equipment repairs that can be done internally.
• Ship warranty items for repair.
• Determine the need to clean the laboratory and equipment areas.
• Order items available through Central Supply.
