About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Respiratory Care, the Clinical Education Supervisor is responsible for the clinical guidance and competence of the Respiratory Care (RC) staff. This role actively participates in the day-to-day coordination of all Respiratory Care (RC) activities at Cabell Huntington Hospital. The supervisor trains and directs RC staff to ensure the quality of services provided meets CHH's standard of care. They serve as a technical resource on current policy and best practice for respiratory staff and hospital personnel, and are responsible for the delivery of all respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • RRT Certification in Radiography required.
  • WV state license for Respiratory Care required.
  • ACLS Provider required.
  • PALS Provider required.
  • Two years of position-related experience required.
  • Good working knowledge of respiratory anatomy and physiology, pulmonary disease pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to skillfully operate all respiratory related patient support equipment.
  • Adherence to established procedure protocols.
  • Working knowledge of all Respiratory Care treatments and modalities, application software and other information pertinent to placing orders and verifying appropriateness.
  • Must be mature, responsible, and use initiative for independent judgment when necessary.
  • Required to have a high standard of medical ethics.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, physicians, and the general public.

Nice To Haves

  • ACLS Instructor preferred.
  • PALS Instructor preferred.
