Respiratory Care Tutor (PT)
About The Position
Mohawk Valley Community College is seeking a Respiratory Care Lab Tutor for its Learning Commons. This part-time, 10-month position involves providing academic and hands-on learning support to students in the Respiratory Care program. Working under the guidance of Respiratory Care faculty, the tutor will help students enhance their knowledge, technical skills, and confidence in respiratory care concepts and laboratory procedures. The role includes offering individualized and small-group assistance with course material, laboratory skills, equipment usage, and preparation for practical exams.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Respiratory Care
- Demonstrated competence in respiratory care concepts and laboratory skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to students
- Ability to work effectively with students individually and in small groups
- Commitment to student success and a supportive learning environment
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group tutoring to students enrolled in Respiratory Care courses.
- Assist students in understanding and applying respiratory care concepts, terminology, and procedures.
- Reinforce laboratory skills and techniques.
- Help students develop proficiency with equipment commonly used in the Respiratory Care laboratory.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
