About The Position

This position involves assisting nursing students in targeted subject areas through individual or group tutoring, hosting workshops, and modeling collaborative study strategies. The tutor will create and manage academic resources, provide feedback on student papers including format and APA style, and contribute to a positive learning environment. Regular documentation of student support and communication with the Dean/Director of Nursing are also key responsibilities. The role requires regular and reliable attendance and may include other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Completion of an approved professional nursing education program.
  • GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Successful completion of NCLEX
  • Ability to relate to students with various academic levels and needs
  • A current active unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the state in which the program is located or multi-state privilege to practice in state.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
  • Excellent teaching and classroom management skills
  • Competent in personal computer applications: word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email.
  • Successful completion of criminal background check and drug screening, required immunizations, current CPR and HIPAA certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides feedback to the student on grammar & syntax and paper format that includes title page, introduction, body, conclusion, and reference page, including use of APA format.
  • Contribute to a friendly and productive learning environment
  • Meet regularly with supervisor to provide documentation of student academic support.
  • Communicates with the Dean/Director of Nursing as necessary to resolve issues or concerns
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
