About The Position

Tutor Doctor El Paso is seeking an experienced Nursing Academic Tutor/Study Coach to provide intensive, one-on-one support to a student currently enrolled in nursing school. The student needs comprehensive academic support to catch up on coursework, strengthen study habits, prepare for exams, and successfully pass current nursing courses. This is a high-hour, dedicated tutoring opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with a student and providing structure, accountability, and academic guidance.

Requirements

• Patient, organized, encouraging, and highly structured.
• Strong knowledge of nursing or health-science coursework.
• Nursing degree, nursing-school experience, or relevant healthcare/academic background.
• Strong understanding of how to study for rigorous nursing courses and exams.
• Experience tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or coaching college students.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts in different ways.
• Strong study, test-taking, and executive-functioning strategies.
• Ability to maintain a structured and productive study environment.
• Dependability and availability for a high number of weekly hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive, one-on-one support to a nursing student.
• Help the student catch up on coursework and assignments.
• Strengthen the student's study habits and note-taking skills.
• Prepare the student for exams and tests.
• Teach effective test-taking strategies.
• Assist with time management and organization.
• Help develop executive functioning skills.
• Create daily and weekly study plans.
• Prioritize assignments and upcoming exams.
• Review material for understanding and retention.
• Build stronger independent study habits.
• Provide accountability and ensure the student stays on track.
• Offer overall academic support to help the student successfully complete courses.
