About The Position

This is a full-time position for a detail-oriented in-vivo support specialist with precise attention to integrity of vivarium biosecurity and reproducible procedure implementation. This position will consist of some mouse husbandry, breeding, and identification prior to distribution to user laboratories, tissue sampling and genotyping data organization, experimental manipulations, daily health monitoring, equipment maintenance checks as well as regulatory and experimental documentation. Clear communication with user groups is paramount. A Bachelor of Science and at least one year of experience with severely immunodeficient mice is preferred but not required, however, consistent experience with routine experimental mouse manipulations must be demonstrated during initial pro as well as willingness to learn murine surgical applications and some bench science. Applicants are expected to become proficient in execution in-vivo manipulation techniques in alignment with core standards of blood and tissues sampling and injections as well as use of relevant equipment. SOP development and writing, wet lab pathology sample preparation and blood analysis as needed. Rotating weekends as required by experimental demand. Core workflow is partially influenced by service requests which vary based on user demand, therefore, day to day responsibilities will be structured/assigned based on need.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science and at least 3-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Consistent experience with routine experimental mouse manipulations must be demonstrated.
  • Willingness to learn murine surgical applications and some bench science.
  • Proficiency in execution in-vivo manipulation techniques in alignment with core standards of blood and tissues sampling and injections as well as use of relevant equipment.
  • SOP development and writing, wet lab pathology sample preparation and blood analysis as needed.

Nice To Haves
