About The Position

Resource Specialist will provide information and referral services for clients and community members to community service providers and partners within the Portland Metropolitan Tri-County area. Resource Specialist will also assist the Quality Assurance Manager with assessing client and community satisfaction with existing services as well as identifying unmet service needs. The first 90 days of on-site employment will be on-site. After that time, a hybrid work location may be explored based on the performance of client- and community-facing duties as well as ability to collaborate with other Catholic Charities staff.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent lived and/or worked experience required.
  • Must have knowledge about social services in Portland Metropolitan Tri-County area.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing in English required.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Satisfactory results from pre-employment criminal and civil background screening required.
  • Motor vehicle records (MVR) review required as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience providing information and referrals and advocacy and/or case management preferred.
  • Ability to communicate concisely and effectively both verbally and in writing in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and expand a resource database in collaboration with other programs to identify statewide resources and contacts.
  • Respond to resource-seeking calls which are received through the Catholic Charities main line or forwarded from executive team members.
  • Respond by phone to clients and community members to provide information and referral, direct to appropriate resources, and assist with service navigation, as appropriate.
  • Assist Quality Assurance manager in soliciting, organizing, and presenting client and community satisfaction with existing services.
  • Attend client- and community-facing events in the Portland Metropolitan Tri-County area in order to share information about Catholic Charities’ services and identify unmet community needs.
  • May be assigned to help with agencywide events such as health fairs, food pantries, holiday toy drives, etc.
  • Participate in trainings and meetings assigned by a member of management, their supervisor, and/or Human Resources.
  • Adherence to Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
