About The Position

Under the supervision of the site administrator and in cooperation with the Special Education Department, the Resource Specialist provides assessment, instructional services, consultation, coordination, planning, curricular resources, evaluation, and remediation for individuals with exceptional needs. These may include students in any special education classification whose Individualized Education Program (IEP) requires placement in the resource specialist program.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment and fingerprint clearance.

Requirements

• Valid California Education Specialist Credential.
• Valid California English Learner Authorization.
• Bachelor's degree; a copy of the degree or transcripts must be submitted.
• Submit a letter of introduction or cover letter, resume, and two letters of recommendation written within the last two years.
• Successfully complete pre-employment and fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and instructional services for individuals with exceptional needs.
• Provide consultation, coordination, and planning in cooperation with the Special Education Department.
• Provide curricular resources, evaluation, and remediation for individuals with exceptional needs.
• Serve students whose IEPs require placement in the resource specialist program.
