About The Position

This position works within the University’s Student Affairs Division, collaborating across the university to match students to basic need resources. The Student Assistance Services Department administers the campus food pantry, the 12th Van transportation service, non-clinical case management, and other vital resources connected to supporting students experiencing food insecurity and/or financial hardship. The Resource Education Specialist II, under the direction of the Director, provides professional assistance for the advisement, coordination, and organization of student developmental programs, activities, and/or services for Student Assistance Services and the 1973 Center.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 year experience in student affairs work or related specialty.
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with PantrySoft and MAXIENT software.
  • Experience with transportation services and logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, organizes, and supervises the pantry volunteer program to maintain the food pantry stocking & cleaning.
  • Scheduling food drives for the campus food pantry.
  • Prepares administrative reports for the pantry usage.
  • Advises students through the application process for community resources, ie, SNAP.
  • Manage the lounge(s) supported by the department for operation support.
  • Will require driving using a University vehicle.
  • Design and implement assessment strategies to evaluate student needs, and program effectiveness.
  • Collect, analyze, and report data on service utilization, demographics, and food insecurity trends among students.
  • Assist in using assessment findings to inform program improvements, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
  • Aid in preparing reports and presentations to communicate impact to campus leadership and external stakeholders.
  • Will require driving using a University vehicle.
  • Collaborate with institutional committees to align evaluation with broader student success metrics.

  • Collaborates with student organizations and departments to educate the campus about SAS resources.
  • Will require driving using a University vehicle.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to ensure efficient and respectful service delivery within the pantry.
  • Manages social media, internal, and external messaging for outreach to the 1973 Center.
  • Mentors and support students through 1:1 check-ins; tracking consultations through Maxient or Navigate.
  • Will require driving using a University vehicle.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with outside campus resources supporting the mission of SAS.
  • Represents SAS in campuswide efforts including presentations, which may require driving using a university vehicle.
  • Serves on committees to advocate for students' needs.
  • Drives university vehicles for events and meetings including supporting the basic need resources & 12th Van.
  • Participates in department and division wide activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support the department.
