About The Position

Community Interface Services is hiring a Full-Time Resource Counselor to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence. Since 1983, Community Interface Services has been empowering adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through individualized, community-based support. We are a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people thrive in employment, housing, community inclusion, and daily living. This position earns a starting range of $23-25 per hour, with a flexible schedule Monday through Friday. If you are interested in community-driven work within the Escondido to Vista surrounding areas, then become part of a dynamic team. As a Resource Counselor, you will work with participants in our Independent Living program and provide individualized, person-centered support to each person. This support could look like assisting with maintaining housing, accessing resources for children at school and in the community, or navigating housing assistance programs. This role is hands-on, one-on-one focused, and essential to improving the quality of life for those we serve. Since we support individuals within their own home or their community, there's expected travel within the Escondido to Vista area.

Requirements

  • Experience in accessing resources and benefits
  • Knowledge of housing resources or willingness to learn
  • Strong communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • A High School Diploma or GED required
  • A valid California driver's license
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Insurance
  • 2+ years of driving experience

Responsibilities
