Resin Commodity Buyer

This role involves negotiating and sourcing resin grades for Brose Molders in Mexico, USA & Canada, managing overall commercial relationships with resin suppliers in North America, and analyzing, managing & bundling resin demands among Brose Molders to optimize MOQs & prices. The position also includes setting up price agreements and LOAs with Resin suppliers, maintaining and updating the Resin pool Master file, supporting Project buyers with resin prices and specifications for new projects, identifying and onboarding new alternative resin suppliers, supporting resin shortages to avoid customer impact, identifying cost reduction projects, monitoring index trends and market intelligence, and supporting annual raw material premise and quarterly forecast updates.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Business or Engineering from a four-year college or university
  • 3 - 5 years experience
  • Analytical skills: Index trends & adjustments, cost analysis, demand analysis, etc.
  • Data management: attention to details and proficiency in SAP & Excel
  • Negotiation techniques
  • Supplier relationship & stakeholder management
  • Project management / Risk management
  • Leadership & assertive communication
  • Basic resin grades & properties, plastic injection and foreign trade concepts (Incoterms, HTS, tariffs, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and source resin grades for Brose Molders in Mexico, USA & Canada.
  • Manage overall commercial relationship with resin suppliers in North America
  • Analyze, manage & bundle resin demands among Brose Molders to optimize MOQs & prices
  • Set-up price agreements and LOAs with Resin suppliers
  • Maintain and update Resin pool Master file as new grades are added to the pool
  • Support Project buyers providing resin prices for target setting process
  • Get resin specs & volumes from project buyers to support new projects ramp-up
  • Identify and onboard new alternative resin suppliers according to AM strategy & processes
  • Support resin shortages at Brose molders to avoid Customer impact
  • Identify cost reduction projects and support execution of related RACE measures
  • Monitor index trends, Market intelligence and forward-looking outlooks from commodity experts
  • Support Annual Raw Material premise and quarterly forecast updates
