About The Position

In collaboration and partnership with the graduate Clinical Psychology program and graduate Department of Social Work program, Residential Living is seeking graduate interns to serve as Residential Well-Being Support Specialists. In this role, graduate interns will support residential students both proactively and reactively around issues that impact their mental health. They will provide workshops and learning opportunities to explore ways to manage stress, anxiety, time management, and emotions. They will help individual students through concerns related to relationship conflicts, mental well-being, and stress related to being a college student.

Requirements

  • Full-time Clinical Psychology or Social Work graduate students during the terms of employment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree completed prior to job employment.
  • Ability to work on a team and with all students living on campus.
  • Experience and desire to work with college students.
  • Experience in crisis response and support.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work successfully independently and effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with all students living on campus who may possess a broad range of academic skills and goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with Residential Living students to provide support navigating their challenges, conflicts, or concerns.
  • Lead group sessions for stress management, roommate conflict, relationships, anxiety, and depression as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Residential Community Coordinators in supporting students within their buildings.
  • Support RAs as peer leaders.
  • Effectively use Navigate and Maxient software for case management and student support.
  • Serve in the on-call rotation for Residential Living for a week at a time approximately every month.
  • Participate in weekly meetings that may include: RA staff meetings, meetings with department-based clinical faculty, Res Living supervisor, Res Living team meetings.
  • Attend residential community events.
