About The Position
Piedmont Community Services is seeking a Residential Support Specialist to assist adults with developmental disabilities with routine personal care, social support, and physical assistance in daily living activities. The role helps ensure that group-home residents receive individualized care, maintain dignity, and enjoy a safe, comfortable home environment while leading self-directed lives in their community. Multiple shifts are needed, and rotating weekend availability may be required. Applicants must consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening as part of the application process. Piedmont Community Services (PCS), officially the Piedmont Regional Community Services Board, is one of 40 community services boards across Virginia. PCS provides behavioral health, developmental disability, substance use, crisis, prevention, residential, and housing services in Franklin, Patrick, and Henry counties and the City of Martinsville. Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills.
- Good patient documentation skills.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
- Reliable ability to transport oneself to worksites, trainings, and meetings.
- Must consent to background checks, including checks for barrier crimes, and drug screening.
- Rotating weekend availability may be required.
Nice To Haves
- Additional education or experience in human services fields is preferred.
- Experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (ID/DD) is a plus, but not required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) qualification is a plus, but not required.
