About The Position

This role involves working with youth and young adults aged 16-21 who are experiencing mental health challenges. The Residential Support Specialist (RSS) will work one-on-one and in groups to help clients learn and practice skills related to relationships, school success, recreational activities, health and wellness, early career experiences, and day-to-day living within a residential setting. The role also includes ensuring safety by helping youth regulate and safely express their emotions, utilizing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) skills. Daily tasks involve teaching independent living skills such as hygiene and housekeeping, assisting residents with meal preparation, modeling relationship-building skills, and coaching youth on coping skills. Additionally, the RSS will foster a safe and inviting living environment through regular cleaning, document client progress, medication management success, and recovery processes as they transition to adulthood.

  • Ability to perform Therapeutic Crisis Intervention therapeutic restraint techniques, which require moderate exertion, being able to lift 40 pounds, and the mobility to lower self to a kneeling position on the floor.
  • High School diploma or GED certificate and at least 25 years of age.
  • Associates degree or higher and at least 21 years of age.
