About The Position
Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Adult Residential Support Professional to join our team at Aspen Center, a residential treatment facility serving adult men in recovery from substance use disorders. At Aspen Center, we provide affordable, comprehensive addiction treatment in a supportive, recovery-focused environment. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Flexibility, patience, and sound judgment in a residential treatment setting
- Basic computer skills for documentation, email, electronic health records, and online training
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, climb stairs, and perform other physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to work in a residential setting and outdoors as needed
- Local travel may be required to transport residents and support program needs
Nice To Haves
- College coursework in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred and may be required depending on program requirements
- Previous experience working in behavioral health, addiction recovery, human services, or a related field is preferred
- Valid driver's license preferred
- DHS 83 certifications (Fire Safety, First Aid, Choking Procedures, Standard Precautions, and Medication Administration) preferred and required after hire if not already obtained
Responsibilities
- Support, monitor, and encourage residents while serving as a positive role model
- Observe resident behavior and complete accurate documentation and required reports
- Assist with medication monitoring and administration according to program policies
- Support residents in achieving treatment goals and developing independent living skills
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, crises, and challenging situations
- Assist with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and maintaining a clean living environment
- Transport residents to appointments, recovery meetings, and community activities
- Collect urine specimens and administer breathalyzer tests as required
- Lead educational or recovery-focused groups following program guidelines
- Maintain confidentiality while communicating appropriate client updates with treatment providers and community partners
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other program activities
- Provide basic first aid when needed
- Perform other duties that support resident care and program operations
