About The Position

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan (LSS) is seeking a compassionate and dependable Adult Residential Support Professional to join our team at Aspen Center, a residential treatment facility serving adult men in recovery from substance use disorders. At Aspen Center, we provide affordable, comprehensive addiction treatment in a supportive, recovery-focused environment. As a Residential Support Professional, you'll play an important role in helping residents build healthy routines, develop life skills, and work toward lasting sobriety. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Flexibility, patience, and sound judgment in a residential treatment setting
  • Basic computer skills for documentation, email, electronic health records, and online training
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, climb stairs, and perform other physical tasks throughout the shift
  • Ability to work in a residential setting and outdoors as needed
  • Local travel may be required to transport residents and support program needs

Nice To Haves

  • College coursework in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred and may be required depending on program requirements
  • Previous experience working in behavioral health, addiction recovery, human services, or a related field is preferred
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • DHS 83 certifications (Fire Safety, First Aid, Choking Procedures, Standard Precautions, and Medication Administration) preferred and required after hire if not already obtained

Responsibilities

  • Support, monitor, and encourage residents while serving as a positive role model
  • Observe resident behavior and complete accurate documentation and required reports
  • Assist with medication monitoring and administration according to program policies
  • Support residents in achieving treatment goals and developing independent living skills
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies, crises, and challenging situations
  • Assist with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and maintaining a clean living environment
  • Transport residents to appointments, recovery meetings, and community activities
  • Collect urine specimens and administer breathalyzer tests as required
  • Lead educational or recovery-focused groups following program guidelines
  • Maintain confidentiality while communicating appropriate client updates with treatment providers and community partners
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and other program activities
  • Provide basic first aid when needed
  • Perform other duties that support resident care and program operations
