RESIDENTIAL SPECIALIST
About The Position
Supportive Concepts for Families, Inc. is hiring Residential Specialists for multiple locations in Lebanon County. The role provides direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting, helping them build independence and participate in daily and community life. Paid training is provided, and no experience is required for many positions; however, this posting lists previous experience working directly with individuals with IDD and Behavioral Health as a qualification. The position is available full-time or part-time, with flexible scheduling based on programmatic needs. Evening, weekend, holiday, and overnight hours may be required. Pay is $17.25, and a $2,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time employment. Employment is administered through Apis Services, Inc.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- Previous experience working directly with individuals with IDD and Behavioral Health.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English communication.
- Ability to successfully complete all required training programs.
- Ability to pass criminal record history clearances, FBI screening, physical examination, and drug screening.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist individuals as needed.
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Support daily living skills and independence.
- Help individuals participate in community activities, appointments, and social events.
- Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
- Follow individualized support plans and goals.
- Promote dignity, respect, and person-centered care.
