About The Position

As a Residential Specialist, you’ll provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a home environment. Using a person-centered approach, you’ll empower clients to engage in daily life, make choices, and gain independence. The position is located in Lakeside and is scheduled Sunday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pay is $20.00 to $20.65. A typical day includes providing hands-on, person-centered care; assisting with daily activities; encouraging individuals to achieve personal goals and independence; and creating a safe, respectful, and engaging home environment. The role is suited to someone compassionate, adaptable, responsible, reliable, and comfortable working with diverse individuals, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Six months of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
Valid California driver’s license, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
Compassion and a genuine enjoyment of helping others.
Adaptability and comfort working with diverse individuals in different situations.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Reliability, responsibility, and pride in creating a positive environment.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience using case management systems; Therap is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide hands-on, person-centered care in a residential setting.
Assist with daily activities, including personal care, hygiene, eating, cooking, cleaning, getting dressed and undressed, mobility, and personal organization.
Encourage independence by supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.
Create a safe, respectful, and engaging home environment.
