Residential Specialist (Sun- Wed 7a-3p)
About The Position
As a Residential Specialist, you’ll provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a home environment. Using a person-centered approach, you’ll empower clients to engage in daily life, make choices, and gain independence. The position is located in Santee and is scheduled Sunday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Pay is $20.00 to $20.65. A typical day includes providing hands-on, person-centered care in a residential setting; assisting with daily activities; encouraging independence as individuals work toward personal goals; and creating a safe, respectful, and engaging home environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Six months of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Valid California Driver’s License, current auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
- Compassion, adaptability, strong communication and problem-solving skills, reliability, and a team-oriented approach.
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Experience using case management systems; Therap is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on, person-centered care in a residential setting.
- Assist with personal care, hygiene, eating, cooking, cleaning, dressing and undressing, mobility, and personal organization.
- Encourage independence by supporting individuals in achieving personal goals.
