About The Position

Mental Health Connecticut (MHC), a statewide nonprofit provider agency, is hiring a full-time Residential Specialist I for its Transitional/Respite program in the Torrington area. The role coordinates individuals’ needs with available services and documents and delivers services to people in recovery according to their Individual Recovery Plans. The position offers a choice of two schedules: Sunday–Thursday or Friday–Monday, 12:00 a.m.–8:00 a.m. Salary is $21.00 per hour.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma required.

• Experience in community mental health preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage with people in recovery to support their participation in programs and activities.
• Document activities, communications, and encounters with individuals in recovery in accordance with service contract and MHC requirements.
• Orient individuals to available program services.
• Maintain activity and progress reports.
• Teach and assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) skills to support a clean and orderly environment.
• Monitor the safety of individuals in their residences through appropriate site supervision and maintenance of safe, healthy facilities.
• Provide emergent program-site coverage when necessary; may be required to remain on site or report beyond scheduled hours to provide essential coverage.
