About The Position

The Residential Services Supervisor is a hands-on leader who helps ensure a safe, supportive, and person-centered environment for participants in a 24/7 Adult Foster Care home. Working closely with the Residential Services Manager, this role supports daily operations, coaches and guides staff, and helps maintain high standards of care, quality, and compliance. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about leading teams and making a meaningful impact in the lives of older adults. Position includes an every-other-weekend rotation.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of healthcare experience with required supervisory and scheduling experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the State of Michigan from an accredited program, or willingness to obtain CNA or PCA certification within 3 months of hire, required.
  • Knowledge of AFC regulations, compliance requirements, participant care, service plans, and medication practices.
  • Strong staff coordination, scheduling, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to support daily operations in a 24/7 care environment and maintain accurate documentation and follow-through.
  • Current CPR certification or willing to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to travel within the service area as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of experience working with the frail elderly, long-term care population, or individuals receiving end-of-life care, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day operations of the AFC home, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards
  • Assist with internal and external audits and maintain survey readiness
  • Maintain required certifications (e.g., ServSafe) and ensure adherence to safety and compliance practices
  • Assist with staff scheduling to ensure appropriate 24/7 coverage and staffing ratios
  • Support staff onboarding, training, and competency verification (including PCA training and uMAPS)
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and on-the-floor support to staff
  • Assist with on-call coverage and ensure staff maintain staffing ratios, required certifications and documentation standards
  • Support implementation of participant care plans, ensuring physician orders and services are accurately followed.
  • Monitor advance care plans and code status, ensuring information is accessible and respected in care delivery.
  • Conduct routine rounds to assess participant needs, support staff in real time, and administer medications while reinforcing safe medication practices.
  • Support participant admissions, discharges, and other administrative tasks as assigned by leadership.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and assist with compliance, quality tracking, and performance reporting.
  • Coordinate operational needs including supply ordering, vendor management, and oversight of participant trust funds.
  • Support daily operations of household and participant services, including: Meal service and food safety, Housekeeping and laundry, Life enrichment activities, Transportation and overall participant experience
