This position provides milieu and/or mental health, rehabilitation, and case management services to assist and support clients in all areas of daily living within a residential setting. The role involves developing and implementing individual service and treatment plans, facilitating psychiatric consultations and group sessions, and providing medical follow-up assistance. A key aspect of the role is facilitating client insurance benefits to expedite treatment and payment, which includes determining coverage status, assisting with applications, and liaising with insurance carriers. The specialist will also provide services to clients and their families by connecting them with professional and community resources, coordinating care with other programs, and advocating for clients with outside agencies. Direct interface with clients includes providing counseling, crisis intervention, monitoring independent living skills, and assisting with budgeting, financial planning, health, safety, and medication education. The position also participates in the management of team/program discretionary resources to meet client needs. Additionally, the role requires completing clinical records and other documentation accurately and efficiently, performing administrative admissions and discharge procedures, overseeing medication issuance, and performing general office work. Transportation of clients and supplies may be required. The position involves on-call and floor coverage, participation in after-hours rotation, and providing consultation and back-up to staff. First Aid is administered in emergency situations.
