About The Position

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking Residential Services Aides to encourage progress and build confidence at Selinsgrove Center. In this role, you will help individuals strengthen their daily living skills while working with a team that believes in positive change. Each day offers chances to support growth, celebrate achievements, and create meaningful connections. This position supports the treatment, training, and daily progress of individuals served at Selinsgrove Center. The role centers on helping each person grow by delivering dependable, compassionate service.

Requirements

Successful completion of the Aide Trainee program (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Six months of paid experience in the care, activities, and personal guidance of individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Meet the PA residency requirement.
Be able to perform essential job functions.
Successful completion of a medical examination and a drug screening.
Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

Assist with completing portions of self-care assessments, training plans, and supplemental procedures to ensure accurate information about strengths, likes, and needs.
Conduct specified training plans and supplemental procedures to support active treatment.
Record and report required information to help maintain and improve the effectiveness of individual plans.
Interact with interdisciplinary team members and communicate skill levels and strengths to maximize active treatment.
Document information in assigned records to support communication and continuity of care.
Participate in selecting, purchasing, and placing furniture, equipment, and personal items to improve the therapeutic environment.
