Automotive Mechanic (1st Shift) - Selinsgrove Center
About The Position
This position focuses on maintaining, repairing, and inspecting vehicles and equipment to support safe and reliable operations. It plays an important role in meeting transportation and maintenance needs across the Center. As an Automotive Mechanic, you will perform the following duties: Mechanical Repair: Diagnose issues and repair engines, brakes, steering systems, electrical components, and other vehicle parts Equipment Service: Perform maintenance and overhaul work on cars, trucks, tractors, sweepers, mixers, and similar equipment Preventive Work: Complete tune ups, tire changes, lubrication, filter services, and system adjustments following maintenance schedules Safety Inspection: Conduct official state safety inspections, prepare documentation, and make repairs needed to meet standards Road Testing: Test vehicles after repair to confirm safe and proper operation Inventory Control: Order tools, supplies, and parts while keeping inventory levels sufficient for daily repair needs
Requirements
- Four years of experience in the automotive mechanic trade; or completion of an approved apprenticeship; or Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledges, skills, and abilities.
- Possession of a Commercial Driver's License Class B or higher with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsement.
- Possession of a valid Class 7 Pennsylvania Certified Inspection Mechanic certificate or equivalent that allows inspection for Class 7 vehicles.
- Meet the PA residency requirement.
- Able to perform essential job functions.
- Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
