About The Position

Pro-Tech Air Conditioning & Plumbing Service, a Southern Home Services company, is seeking a Service Plumber to perform residential plumbing service work. The role involves troubleshooting, installing, and repairing plumbing systems; diagnosing problems; carrying out repairs and installations; and ensuring work meets quality standards and local codes. Success requires strong problem-solving and communication skills, including effective interaction with homeowners. The position includes managing plumbing supplies and equipment, maintaining safety equipment, and supporting apprentices and coordination with other trades. Work takes place in indoor and outdoor environments, including attics and crawlspaces, and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures and adverse weather. Requirements

At least 2 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing residential and commercial plumbing systems.
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and 3 years of driving experience.
Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and job specifications.
Expertise installing, maintaining, and repairing water, gas, and sewage systems.
Familiarity with local and state plumbing codes and regulations.
Experience using tools and equipment such as pipe cutters, threaders, and soldering tools.
Ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and recommend effective solutions.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, team members, and supervisors.
Physical ability to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and handle tools for extended periods.
In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
Proven customer-service skills, professionalism, and focus on customer satisfaction.
Basic knowledge of mobile apps and work management software to track tasks and report job progress.
Ability to work well within a team and coordinate with other trades.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and emergency calls, as needed.
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally; climb ladders; access attics and crawlspaces; navigate tight spaces; drive; push, carry, and pull; use hand tools; and perform fine detail work.
Ability to stand, walk, and sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; and regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors, with regular exposure to extreme heat or cold and adverse weather conditions such as wind, rain, ice, or snow.

Responsibilities

Diagnose problems and failures in plumbing systems and equipment.
Determine whether customer systems require repair or replacement.
Install and assemble plumbing systems and equipment, including valves, pipe fittings, and pipes.
Install, maintain, and repair water and gas systems, pipes, fittings, and components.
Test for leaks using compressed air and/or water to ensure functionality and safety.
Repair and maintain plumbing systems by replacing washers, mending burst pipes, and clearing clogged drains.
Manage vehicle inventory of plumbing supplies by checking stock, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
Keep equipment and tools operational by following manufacturer instructions and established procedures.
Maintain safety equipment.
Lead apprentices, work within a team, and coordinate with other trades on larger projects.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
