The Residential Rehab Educator/Counselor plays an essential role in enabling adults with mental illness to live as actively and independently as possible. This involves assisting clients with goal setting and achievement, activities of daily living, engagement in meaningful activities, socialization, transportation, and medication administration. The role also includes implementing treatment plans to help clients reach goals, manage symptoms, develop independence, and enhance their quality of life. The position has a schedule of Tuesday through Saturday, 3 PM to 11 PM.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience working in the health and human services field and/or related education or training
  • Patience and an understanding and ability to interact with individuals with disabilities
  • Dependability, flexibility, and desire to help others
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn to use an electronic health record system
  • Current valid driver’s license and safe driving record
  • Access to a personal vehicle required at some sites
  • CPR certification
  • First Aid certification
  • MAP certification

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework in psychology, human services, social work, health sciences towards an Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred
