Carolinas Rehab - Facility Nurse Educator
About The Position
The Facility Nurse Educator collaborates with nursing leadership to assess and address the orientation and continuing education needs of the nursing team. This role involves developing and conducting facility-specific orientation programs for both licensed and non-licensed nursing staff, including facilitating 30-day new employee orientation and 90-day reunion sessions as part of service excellence initiatives. The educator designs programs to enhance nursing practice, ensures compliance with licensure and certification requirements, and coordinates with Nurse Managers for student placements, orientation, and preceptorships. Utilizing adult education principles, the educator plans, designs, and implements educational activities based on identified learning needs, acting as a program planner and assessing needs through observation, formal assessments, and program evaluations.
Requirements
- Current applicable state RN licensure required.
- BSN required.
- 3 years clinical experience in related area (OR, ER, acute care) required.
- BLS required per policy guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Specialty certification may be preferred or required for specific area (e.g., Med Ctr Air Flight Nurse Educator).
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with nursing leadership to assess needs for orientation and continuing education needs for nursing team.

- Designs programs that enhance the practice of nursing; assists the learner to comply with licensure and certification requirements.
- Coordinates with Nurse Managers to place students, orient students, and organize preceptorships for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Utilizes adult education principles, plans, designs, and implements educational activities based on identified learning needs.
- Works as a program Planner.
- Assesses learning needs through direct observation, formal needs assessment, and program evaluation or other organizational activity reports.
