Residential Peer Support Specialist
About The Position
On the Road to Wellness is seeking applicants for a part-time Residential Peer Support Specialist position. This role is part of the Step-Up Step-Down (SUSD) Program, a voluntary, peer-run residential program in Manchester, NH. The program offers short-term, 24-hour peer support in a home-like environment for adults needing extra support to strengthen stability, wellness, independence, and community connection. As a team member, you will use peer support principles and potentially your own lived experience to foster an environment where residents feel respected, heard, supported, and empowered in their recovery.
Requirements

- Reliability, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to consistently report to scheduled shifts on time and prepared to work.
- Willingness to be open, honest, and thoughtful about how lived experience can be used appropriately to support others.
- Respect for individual choice, dignity, boundaries, and different pathways to recovery.
- Ability to pass a BEAS Registry screening.
- Ability to pass a New Hampshire Department of Safety background screening.
- Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and reasonably clean driving record for residential duties.
Nice To Haves
- Willingness to complete training to become a Certified New Hampshire Peer Support Specialist within one year of hire.
Responsibilities
- Use principles of peer support and lived experience to help create an environment where residents feel respected, heard, supported, and empowered in their own recovery.
- Provide one-on-one peer support.
- Facilitate peer-led groups.
- Assist with holistic wellness services.
- Provide transportation assistance.
- Engage in community activities and outings.
- Connect residents to community resources and supports.
- Report to scheduled shifts on time and prepared to work.
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a peer-led team.
