About The Position

This position is responsible for monitoring and training newly hired Residential Managers. The mentor will supervise and oversee the activities of the Assistant Manager Mentor and Direct Support Professional (DSP) Mentor. The role involves supporting new Residential Managers as they transition from Assistant Manager to Residential Manager, utilizing hands-on practical application of agency policies and procedures. Additionally, the mentor will provide site-specific training, as well as training on OPWDD, Office of Fire Prevention & Control (OFPC), and other regulations. A key aspect of the role is to help build collaborative and person-centered relationships.

Requirements

HS Diploma/GED required
Minimum two years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or related human services program experience required
Two years supervisory experience is required.
Medication administration certification required.
Excellent training, coaching and communication skills are required.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
Valid NYS Driver's license that meets agency standards and reliable transportation.
Travel is required

Responsibilities

Directly train and ensure managers understand and comprehend responsibilities pertaining to the operation of a site, to include compliance, personnel, quality, communication, scheduling, Policies and Procedures and regulatory standards.
Supervise Assistant Manager Trainer, and DSP Trainer.
Assist with the development of Assistant Manager training program.
Conduct trainings/coaching meetings, develop training material.
Train managers to ensure supports are present for all consumers.
Train managers to work with family, advocate, or correspondent.
Identify personal development opportunities with Managers.
Travel to all sites within the County, as needed.
