About The Position

Under the supervision of the Coordinator - Residential Services, responsible for the day-to-day operation of a residential setting for persons with a developmental disability and/or emotional impairment. Functions as the Residential representative on the Interdisciplinary Team, developing individual program plans for each consumer. Responsible for the implementation of this plan in the residential setting. Directs the daily operation of the residential setting, including staff, house maintenance, recordkeeping, etc. May assist with emergencies during unscheduled work times. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum three years work experience with individuals with mental illness or developmental disabilities.
  • At least two years work experience in a lead position or more responsible position.
  • Leadership and good judgment skills.
  • Commitment to Gentle Teaching practices.
  • Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Ability to pass a physical exam annually.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license.
  • Access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use.
  • Ability to pass a background verification and credentialing procedure (Criminal background check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, acceptable driving record, educational background check, and verification of acceptable work history).

  • Experience with lifting and transferring of physically impaired consumers.

Responsibilities
