RESIDENTIAL LIVING SPECIALIST
About The Position
Eagle Star Housing is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and organized individual to join their team as a Transitional Housing Program Staff Member. This role is for a Full-Time Overnight position, focused on supporting veterans and other vulnerable individuals in their journey toward stability, independence, and renewed purpose. The position involves preparing meals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, providing case management support, guiding new residents, ensuring adherence to house expectations, collaborating with the Housing Manager, and remaining present to assist residents throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Experience working with veterans and/or other vulnerable populations.
- Knowledge of the social security/disability benefits referral process.
- Familiarity with mental health services, housing resources, and case coordination.
- Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to maintain clear boundaries.
- Organizational skills for tracking documentation, appointments, and client progress.
- A heart for service and a passion for empowering individuals to thrive.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general procedures and policies.
- Ability to write reports.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and residents.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and report to supervisor.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Prep dinner for up to 15 residents and help maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment.
- Provide Case Management Support to Residents, to include assisting in the following services: Developing service plans tailored to each resident’s needs and goals. Conducting one-on-one case meetings. Writing accurate, timely case notes and documentation. Making referrals to community resources, including the VA, mental health providers, and social service agencies.
- Guide new residents through the intake and orientation process and help them adjust to communal living.
- Ensure residents understand and follow house expectations while promoting mutual respect and personal growth.
- Collaborate with the Housing Manager and external providers to coordinate care and identify support strategies.
- Stay present in the house throughout your shift to assist and respond to resident needs in real-time.
- Promote a culture of accountability, dignity, and hope.
