Residential Lead HVAC Installer
About The Position
One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning and Service Minds are seeking an experienced residential HVAC Installer to install HVAC equipment in customers’ homes safely, efficiently, and in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable codes. Installers are responsible for quality workmanship, protecting customers’ homes, maintaining clean and safe jobsites, and ensuring systems are connected, tested, and operating correctly before the job is complete. The role involves installing and replacing residential HVAC systems and equipment, troubleshooting installation issues, communicating professionally with homeowners, explaining basic system operation, and completing job documentation in ServiceTitan. Installers collaborate with other installation and service team members and maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment. The company offers full-time, year-round work, consistent scheduling, earning potential of $85,000–$100,000 or more annually, training, and opportunities for career development and advancement across skilled trades.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of residential HVAC installation experience.
- Experience installing residential air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, and related HVAC equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical installation skills.
- Knowledge of proper HVAC installation procedures and industry best practices.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, installation manuals, and technical specifications.
- Ability to troubleshoot installation-related issues and make sound decisions in the field.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to completing work correctly the first time.
- Ability to work efficiently without sacrificing quality or safety.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professionalism when working in customers’ homes.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an installation team.
- Strong time-management and organizational skills.
- Dependable, motivated, and team-oriented mindset.
- Commitment to continuing to learn and improve in the HVAC trade.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to successfully complete required background and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Install residential HVAC systems and equipment, including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, thermostats, and related equipment.
- Complete system replacements, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
- Remove and dispose of existing HVAC equipment when required.
- Perform installations according to manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable codes.
- Connect and test systems and confirm they operate correctly before completing jobs.
- Identify and troubleshoot installation-related issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and technical specifications.
- Work efficiently while maintaining safety and workmanship standards.
- Collaborate with Lead Installers, Install Helpers, Service Technicians, and other team members as needed.
- Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the installation process.
- Explain basic system operation and answer customer questions before leaving the home.
- Protect customers’ homes and property throughout installations.
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites.
- Complete accurate job documentation using ServiceTitan.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Represent the One Hour brand with professionalism, honesty, integrity, and pride.
