About The Position

Weber Human Services (WHS), located in Ogden, Utah serves a growing urban population residing in Weber and Morgan Counties. WHS is an organization dedicated to helping those in need rebuild their lives and reach their full potential. WHS was organized by a cooperative agreement between the Weber and Morgan county governments to serve as the local authority for the provision of their substance abuse, mental health and senior service programs. Weber Human Services is the only organization in the State of Utah providing these services under a single administration. Through dozens of human services programs, WHS helps thousands of its neighbors by supporting and empowering our most vulnerable groups including at-risk youth, the elderly, children, youth and adults suffering from mental illnesses, and those recovering from addictions. Weber Human Services creates hope and opportunities that enable all clients and staff to: do the work necessary to become their best self and find joy through people, place and purpose.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Valid Utah driver license
  • CPR/First Aid certification (WHS will pay for this once employment begins)
  • Food Handler's Permit (WHS will pay for this once employment begins)
  • Approved background screening through DACS (required for most, but not all, positions)

Nice To Haves

  • Mental and Behavioral Health experience
  • Patient care setting experience

Responsibilities

  • Providing a safe and caring environment where people can thrive while engaging in treatment.
  • Demonstrating boundaries, while interacting in warm, welcoming, and interested manner with clients at all times.
  • Documenting incidents.
  • Dispensing medication to clients.
  • Supporting the clinical program by providing activities and educational groups.
  • Coaching clients on hygiene, room cleanliness, and encouraging clients to attend and participate in daily treatment including groups.
  • Engaging clients in learning life skills and coping skills to enrich their treatment and help them become their best self.
