About The Position

The Residential Director is responsible for overseeing safe, healthy, innovative, and consistent student programming within the residential departments of the programs at South Campus (Telos U and Geneva Programs). This position is a primary leader of South Campus and oversees the systems, training, and accountability of the residential department.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in a mental health related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a residential treatment setting
  • Skilled people manager - hiring, training, coaching, performance management
  • Ability to manage department systems and processes
  • Adept with department finances and budgets
  • Exceptional interpersonal relationship and leadership skills
  • Experience with physical intervention techniques (CPI preferred)
  • Ability to hold appropriate boundaries
  • Ability to receive and apply instruction
  • Dependable, reliable, punctual, honest
  • Detail oriented and highly organized

Responsibilities

  • Continually develops the residential departments of each program to meet student needs and engagement
  • Maintains and achieves strategic departmental goals/plans
  • Directly supervises lead supervisors of each program, ensuring adequate management of employees and processes
  • Oversees shift, on-call, and night watch teams
  • Maintains oversight of staffing, training, and performance of all department staff
  • Acts as a primary member of the Leadership and Tactical Teams, collaborating with other department leaders for the safety and progression of each student
  • Participates in facility tours with prospective students, parents, referral sources, and other external relationships. Ensures that the building is prepared for tours.
  • Manages department budgets for food, activities, incentives, improvements, etc.
  • Tracks and manages employee overtime to reduce costs
  • Leads AWOL procedures, protocols, and communications in the event of a runaway student
  • Leads physical intervention system (CPI) training, oversight, and correction
  • Conducts weekly training meetings based on relevant competencies and the 10 Pillars of Telos.
  • Facilitates weekly supervision of Lead Supervisors, stewardships, and correlation meetings
  • Ensures apartment safety, cleanliness, and adherence to licensing requirements
  • Prepares for and participates in state licensing and Joint Commission reviews and audits
  • Prepares for and participates in Family Days events
  • Tracks and reports on culture scores weekly
  • Tracks and reports on cleanliness weekly and requests student deposits from accounting
  • Regularly attend Treatment Team Meetings
  • Responds to emergencies, including calls regarding incident reports
  • Understands, exemplifies, and teaches core Telos principles (i.e., 10 Pillars, etc.)
  • Ensures high levels of communication and change management within the department and with other departments.
  • Fosters positive and productive culture and relationships.
