About The Position

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is hiring per-diem Residential Counselors for Young Adult Services in Waltham. The role involves supervising and engaging with youth and residents in activities and daily routines, supporting skill building, and helping provide basic needs in a safe, clean, and supportive living environment. The position offers an opportunity to build a career without a college degree and includes training in several therapeutic and safety practices.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license; motor vehicle background record checks will be completed.
• High school degree or equivalent.
• High-quality communication skills, including the ability to connect with others, be approachable and respectful, and communicate with people at all levels.
• Reflective self-awareness.
• Ability to manage risk.
• Ability to dynamically support youth.
• Flexibility and creative thinking, including adapting to changing work situations, processes, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and engage with youth and residents in activities and daily routines.
• Support skill building for youth and residents through collaborative teamwork.
• Participate in trainings and maintain necessary certifications.
• Facilitate recreational activities for clients.
• Work with the staff team to maintain program structure and provide positive role modeling for youth.
• Provide safe transportation for clients.
• Administer medication once MAP certified.
• Assist with providing basic client needs, including regular meals, a safe and clean living environment, recreational activities, and appropriate hygiene.
