About The Position

The Residential Counselor provides direct and indirect services to individuals and groups of members served. The role is based in a 16-bed crisis residential treatment program providing short-term, 24/7 services for adults aged 18 and older who are experiencing acute psychiatric distress. The program aims to help clients avoid inpatient hospitalization, emergency services, and incarceration; regain stability in a safe, homelike environment; begin working toward longer-term recovery goals; and establish connections to stable housing and ongoing treatment.

The available schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The expected starting wage is $23.00; geographic differentials apply, and starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Employees may also receive applicable evening and weekend shift differentials. The program is located at Telecare Citrus House, 7225 Leeds Street, RTP-D, Downey, California 90242.

Requirements

• High school graduation or a GED equivalent.
• At least one year of direct service experience in a mental health setting.
• Willingness to drive clients using the company vehicle.
• Willingness to use a personal vehicle to attend meetings; weekly mileage is reimbursed at the IRS rate.
