About The Position

The Residential Counselor provides direct and indirect services to individuals and groups of members served. The role is with Serenity House, a 13-bed, short-term intensive Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) program for adult residents of San Mateo County experiencing a mental health crisis. The program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, year-round. Clients may be referred by a hospital, jail, or community source, or may self-refer. The program aims to help clients avoid inpatient hospitalization and emergency services, regain stability, and begin working toward longer-term recovery goals.

This is a full-time overnight position, scheduled 11:00 PM–7:30 AM, Friday through Monday. The expected starting wage range is $24.59–$29.64; the assigned range depends on the geographic location where the role is performed, and starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

Requirements

• High school graduation or a GED equivalent.
• At least one year of direct service experience in a mental health setting.
• A valid and current driver's license.
• Personal vehicle insurance with the applicant listed as a driver.
• Willingness to use the company vehicle to transport clients to appointments, groups, and other activities.
